The Germany national football team for the upcoming Olympics called off a pre-tournament friendly early after alleged racist abuse.
The football team that will represent Germany at the Olympics walked off in the final five minutes of a friendly against Honduras.
With the scoreline level at 1-1, the players left the pitch in protest because of insults aimed at Jordan Torunarigha. The DFB stated that the defender was racially abused. According to Goal and Spox, an unnamed Honduras player was allegedly behind the abuse.

Torunarigha, who represents Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga, suffered similar abuse from Schalke fans in a DFB Pokal match in February 2020. The DFB fined Schalke €50,000 at the time.
In Saturday’s match in Wakayama, Japan, no fans were present.
