Gareth Bale reveals what Cristiano Ronaldo was like at Real Madrid

The recently retired Welsh footballer opened up on his experience of having Cristiano Ronaldo as a teammate at the BMW International Open Pro-Am golf tournament.

Gareth Bale has revealed what it was like to share a dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo, his former Real Madrid teammate.

Bale said that Ronaldo was a nice guy and they didn’t have any problems. However, the Welshman also said that the Portuguese would get angry if he didn’t score, even after a big win. Bale compared it to a golfer being angry after their team’s win if they didn’t get a point.

“He [Ronaldo] was actually okay. He had his moments,” Bale said on Martin Borgmeier’s YouTube channel.

“For example, if we win 5-0 and he didn’t score, he comes in and throws his boots like he’s angry. It’s like your team winning in the Ryder Cup but you didn’t get a point so you are angry.”

Bale also confirmed that Ronaldo thanked the team for their support in his Ballon d’Or wins in Spain.

The 33-year-old played alongside CR7 in Madrid from 2013 to 2018. Together, the pair won numerous pieces of silverware in a trophy-laden era. This included four Champions League titles and a LaLiga crown.

Both players have since ended their respective spells in Spain. While Ronaldo currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Bale retired in January.
