The La Masia graduate has entered the final few months of his contract at the Etihad and has been heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou.

Pep Guardiola is “pretty sure” Eric Garcia is ready to walk out the Manchester City exit door.

Garcia, as things stand, is set to drop to free agency in June having turned down a contract renewal offer from Man City.

The Spanish defender is understood to be keen on joining FC Barcelona next season and has even reportedly reached an agreement regarding personal terms with his boyhood club.

It remains to be seen whether he will make the jump this month or at the end of the season as the transfer process could be delayed by Barcelona’s presidential election.

Back in October, Guardiola was hopeful that he could “seduce” the player into staying put at Man City but is no longer carrying that hope.

“I’m pretty sure he’s going to leave at the end of the season,” the Sky Blues boss said when asked the defender’s links to Barcelona, via Goal.

“And [whether he leaves] now in this transfer window will depend on the clubs. We’ll see until the end of the transfer window.”
