Liverpool reach an agreement for €100m-rated striker

The Reds have verbally agreed on personal terms with Darwin Nunez as they prepare a transfer for the Benfica striker.

To get a deal over the line, Liverpool must now agree on a transfer fee with Benfica. The two clubs began talks on Wednesday. It’s likely Benfica will expect around €100 million in total – €80 million upfront, plus a further €20 million in performance-related add-ons. [The Athletic]

Barcelona & Juve lead the race for Gundogan

Barcelona and Juventus are the reported favorites to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The 31-year-old German’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2023. Unless manager Pep Guardiola can guarantee him regular football, he may not sign a new deal. Therefore, Gundogan could leave this summer while Manchester City can still claim a transfer fee for him. [Bild – in German]
