Chelsea’s next three transfer targets emerge after Lukaku deal

Despite Romelu Lukaku’s return for a club-record transfer of €115 million, Chelsea are far from done.

Thomas Tuchel hopes to sign two new players before the summer transfer window shuts on August 31. Declan Rice, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Jules Kounde are all on the Blues boss’ shortlist.

Kounde is Chelsea’s priority, but Trevoh Chalobah’s performance against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup gave Tuchel food for thought on Wednesday. [The Athletic – subscription required]

Manchester City ready to lodge €150m offer for Kane

The Premier League champions are ready to make a €150 million (£127m) transfer offer for Harry Kane if Tottenham’s stance changes.

Despite Kane’s desire to leave, Daniel Levy has no desire to sell his star striker. The Spurs chairman has already rejected a £100m bid from Manchester City back in June. But he could be tempted into a u-turn for an extra £50m.

For now, City intend to play the waiting game by seeing how the situation between Kane and Spurs unfolds. [The Guardian]

Ronaldo to join Messi at PSG?

With Lionel Messi in the bag, Paris Saint-Germain could reportedly turn their attention on to Cristiano Ronaldo next.

The Ligue 1 giants will make a move for Ronaldo if Kylian Mbappe leaves in the summer of 2022. The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is on Real Madrid’s radar. [AS – in Spanish]

Juventus close in on Locatelli deal

The Manuel Locatelli transfer saga is almost at an end as Juventus close in on an agreement with Sassuolo.

The two Italian clubs are in the last stretch of advanced talks. Juventus plan to get a deal done before the new season begins this weekend and hope for a decisive breakthrough on Friday.

Arsenal are also interested, but Locatelli’s mind has always been set on Juventus. [Goal]

Barcelona star Neto on Arsenal’s radar

As Arsenal’s attempts to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale appear to be going nowhere, it’s time for a Plan B.

Neto is reportedly the man on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist as an alternative for Ramsdale. The Gunners boss could sign the Barcelona goalkeeper on either a permanent or loan deal this summer.

Houssem Aouar and Martin Odegaard also remain of interest for Arsenal, especially as a deal for James Maddison is unlikely. [The Athletic – subscription required]
