The PSG star has been struggling with a knee problem in recent days.

Didier Deschamps is confident that he will have Kylian Mbappe at his disposal for France’s upcoming match against Croatia.

It is a must-win match for Les Blues, who have not won any of their first three games in the UEFA Nations League. Mbappe came off the bench to score a late equalizer for France as they escaped Austria with a point on Friday.

Deschamps says Mbappe is still away from full fitness. However, he hopes the PSG star will be able to make an appearance in the upcoming match.

Asked whether Mbappe will be fit to play against Croatia, the French manager said: “Yes, according to him, although he still has a feeling that is not ideal.

“He is much less uncomfortable than he was at the start of the week when he couldn’t train.

“He was ready to do half an hour [against Austria]. It was planned, he exercised his knee where he had this discomfort.

“We are doing everything so that he can be there tomorrow.”

France have slipped to the fourth spot on the Group A1 standings after collecting two points from their first three games. Les Bleus will face Croatia at Stade de France in their last match of the current international break.
