Florentino Perez gave a final answer on the transfer rumors linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out an ‘impossible’ reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Doubts over Ronaldo’s future have increased as he enters the final year of his Juventus contract.
The Portuguese star signed up for Juventus in 2018 aiming to win the Champions League. The Bianconeri planned to install CR7 at the center of their project, which would’ve converted them into a European force like Real Madrid.
Three seasons later, however, Juventus have only reached the quarter-finals once.
And as their Serie A dominance comes to an end this season, Ronaldo has been tipped to leave the struggling club in the summer.
But while Perez insists he still loves Ronaldo, the Real Madrid president says a return to the Bernabeu for his former star player is ‘impossible’ and ‘doesn’t make sense’.
“Cristiano won’t return to Madrid,” Perez told El Chiringuito.
“It doesn’t make sense. I love him and he has given us a lot, but it doesn’t make sense now.”

On the legendary rivalry between Messi and CR7 that dominated La Liga for nine years, Perez said: “They are very good players, but Messi and Cristiano are history.
“Cristiano won’t return because he has a contract with Juventus.
“I love him a lot, but it doesn’t make sense he returns.”
Perez spoke on Monday night on Spanish television to respond to backlash from the European Super League announcement.
The Spaniard will become president of the rogue competition and has been credited as the ‘mastermind’ behind the project.
