Now that we know Raphael Varane will leave Real Madrid this summer, Florentino Perez can finally go after his biggest target.

Florentino Perez has a plan, especially after Raphael Varane’s official exit from the club. The French defender decided to leave Los Blancos in order to find a new challenge at Manchester United. As the Premier League’s start approaches, there are many great players who are eager to play in English football such as Varane. But that doesn’t take anything away from Florentino Perez’s plans to renovate his squad.

Not having the two greatest centre-backs of the last decade is a major problem for Real Madrid. They do have Vallejo, Nacho, Militao, and Alaba playing for the club next season. But Varane and Ramos leaving feels like a downgrade more than anything else. Regardless, the president still has his plan and it keeps taking form as the end of the transfer window approaches. We all know what his ultimate goal will be before the deadline. It’s the player every Real Madrid supporter has been asking for over the last couple of years.

Kylian Mbappe returns to practice in great form.

The news of Raphael Varane’s exit appears to have motivated Kylian Mbappe back in Paris. On this week’s practice, the young star returned with lightning speed. After the major Euros heartbreak, it’s clear Mbappe will be on a mission to prove himself at the biggest stage. The elusive Champions League is a tournament he wants to win regardless of the club he represents. Thus far, Kylian still hasn’t renewed his contract at PSG as he waits for a major offer from Florentino.

If things go according to plan, we might expect at least one offer before the end of the transfer window. However, there’s also the possibility of Real Madrid waiting for the player’s contract to completely expire next summer. If this happens, Florentino is risking more time that Nasser Al-Khelaifi will use to convince Mbappe to sign a new contract. The battle over one of the best players in the world is only getting started.
