It’s time to talk about the actual plans Real Madrid have planned for the ongoing summer transfer window as per Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid’s last three transfer windows have been completely dry due to the global pandemic and the new Santiago Bernabeu construction. As the club goes through a renovation process, there were moments in which Florentino Perez could’ve pulled the trigger with some great players. However, the president has decided to not spend too much money on any player after the Eden Hazard debacle. The Belgian star hasn’t lived up to the club’s expectations but they still trust he will recover from all his injury issues in the following season.

In recent weeks, Florentino Perez spoke to the club’s associates in order to deliver a report on what the club is doing to improve. He initially confessed that Real Madrid doesn’t have the proper resources to go after one of the most valued players on the transfer market. Meaning they won’t be able to fulfill the supporters’ wishes of getting more than one player during the transfer window. But there is only one reason they would go after a new transfer before the deadline day.

Only Mbappe or Haaland would come.

In Florentino Perez’s statement, he specifically said that the club won’t sign any players this summer unless a good opportunity presents itself. It is clear that the president is only waiting for either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland. The Norway international already started the pre-season with Borussia Dortmund but he doesn’t seem ready to make the move.

Unless Real Madrid offers around €150 million for the young star, there is no way he will come this summer. But the real target is Kylian Mbappe, who is currently at odds with PSG over his contract extension. To Florentino, selling players like Raphael Varane will help him make a better offer to the French club when the time comes. Knowing how Florentino Perez operates, he will make a proper offer before the end of the summer transfer window.
