With David Alaba’s exit on the verge of happening, Hansi Flick reacted to the possibility of his player leaving Bayern Munich this winter.

The relationship between Hansi Flick and David Alaba has always been great at Bayern Munich. However, the German club’s board of directors are the ones who always had issues with the Austrian full-back. For a long time, David started thinking he deserved much more than what was offered by the club and he demanded for it. Since they completely ignored him, it was time to start looking for a new destination.

A place where he would be valued as he wanted. His imminent exit leaves everybody at Bayern Munich heartbroken. Alaba is the fourth good player who is set to leave the club because they couldn’t agree with him on basic contract requirements. Manager Hansi Flick didn’t want to talk about the possible exit but he couldn’t help himself.

Hansi Flick seems to know something we don’t.

It happened in a press conference picked up by Bayern Munich’s official website ahead of the club’s Derby against Augsburg. Flick was bombarded with questions about his player’s future and he initially avoided the subject. But there was a moment in which he decided to ignore the protocol and stated what all Bayern Munich fans feared. Either he hinted at the exit or he already knows something we don’t about David Alaba.

“These are things that can always happen, that there are players who leave when their contract ends. Hope is the last thing you lose. But naturally I know that things are going in a certain direction, which for the team will mean a change.”

It seems like it’s only a matter of time before we get an official announcement about David Alaba’s exit from Bayern Munich. The most obvious destination is Real Madrid, as it was reported earlier on Tuesday.
