Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick is feeling rather calm and confident ahead of the Champions League quarter-final draw to hold on Friday.

It was another routine win for Hansi Flick and company as Bayern completed the double over Lazio on Wednesday night.

Lewandowski scored from the spot to get his 39th goal of the season across all competitions. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting then scored within two minutes of coming off the bench to put the game beyond any doubt. Lazio pulled one back through Marco Parolo but it only turned out to be a consolation as the Germans won 6-2 on aggregate.

The stage is now set for the quarter-finals, with the draw to be held on Friday.

As the reigning European champions, Bayern have picked up from where they left off last season and still look like their usual dominant side that they are. In a season where lots of teams have been largely inconsistent, the German giants might indeed have a chance to retain their Champions League crown.

Regardless of whichever opponent they may face next, Hansi Flick is remaining calm and says Bayern deserve to be where they are in the competition.

Speaking after the Lazio victory, he said as per the club’s website: “It was important that we won the game. Lazio defended well and closed down spaces. The goal we conceded leaves us with a slight bitter taste.”

“The way we played football is how I imagine it. Now we hope that we get a good opponent and turn in two top performances. We are relaxed about the draw and happy to be in the quarter-finals.”

“These are the best eight in Europe who’ll play each other. We’re happy to be there and to have crowned our performance in Rome with a win today, and we deserve to be in the quarter-finals.”

In actual fact, it should be the other way around. Rather than be afraid of opponents, most teams will be hoping to avoid Hansi Flick and his Bayern side come Friday.
