Flick addresses Thiago's future amid Liverpool links

Hansi Flick insists he is unsure about Thiago Alcantara’s future at the club as the player himself is yet to make a final decision.

Despite nearing the last year of his contract with Bayern Munich, Thiago Alcantara has shown no urgency to instigate negotiations for a contract extension.

Speculations, as a result, have been generated regarding his future in recent months with the midfielder getting linked to a host of clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney recently hailed the Spaniard for his wide range of skill-set while insisting that he would be a great addition to the Premier League.

Hansi Flick was asked to comment on Thiago’s future following Bayern’s Champions League success on Sunday night.

“No, he told me he’s staying,” Flick told reporters, according to The Mirror.

As his press conference fell silent, Flick, with a grin on his face, assured that his previous statement was made in jest. He added: “You [the reporters] pulled a brilliant face!

“No, I just thanked him for our time together, just like I did every other player.

“I don’t know and he doesn’t know yet either [where his future lies], because we all focused on this Champions League final. I think we will have to wait for what the following days will bring.”
