Ace Football previews the Serie A match between Fiorentina and Juventus and offers betting tips, odds, line-ups, and team news.

Juventus head to Fiorentina on Sunday afternoon hoping for a bit of revenge after losing 3-0 in Turin back in December.

The visitors sit fourth in Serie A and only two points above fifth-placed Napoli. Anything less than a win, therefore, could knock them off a top-four spot. Although Fiorentina, who lie 32 points behind Juventus in 14th, cannot afford to drop precious points at the moment either.

But can the Viola do a first league double over Juve since 1968/69? Or will Andrea Pirlo’s men get their revenge? It should be close, but the away side’s superior quality may just give them the edge.

Fiorentina Form & Stats

Despite a somewhat fortunate 2-1 win at Hellas Verona on Tuesday, Fiorentina aren’t out of danger yet. They’re only five points above 18th-placed Cagliari as they bid to extend their 17-year stay in Serie A.

It’s not been a happy return for Giuseppe Iachini, though. The Italian, who replaced Cesare Prandelli for a second spell as Fiorentina manager in March, has only won one of his four games (D1 L2). He does, however, have an almost full squad for Sunday’s showdown.

Dusan Vlahovic, meanwhile, is the club’s biggest attacking threat. The 21-year-old striker has had eight goal involvements (7 goals, 1 assist) in his last six league games. If he scores again, he’ll become the youngest player to score 17+ goals in a single Serie A campaign since Mirko Vucinic for Leece in 2004/05.

Key Team Stats
  • Lost 3 of their last 5 games in Serie A (W1 D1).
  • BTTS in their last 8 games in Serie A.
  • Over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 8 games in Serie A.
  • Aim to do a league double over Juventus for the first time since 1968/69.
  • Failed to win two games in a row in Serie A this season.
  • Failed to score in their last 3 home games against Juventus in Serie A.
  • Dusan Vlahovic has scored 7 goals in his last 6 games in Serie A.

Juventus Form & Stats

Alex Sandro’s brace and a Matthijs de Ligt goal ensured Juventus a return to winning ways by overcoming Parma 3-1 ahead of Sunday’s visit to Fiorentina, a team they lost 3-0 to last time out.

Andrea Pirlo simply cannot afford to lose amid rumored doubts over his future as manager. With Juve’s nine-year Serie A dominance all but over, he must secure a top-four finish or else risk being shown the door.

The Bianconeri, however, haven’t been convincing away from home this season. They’ve only won one of their last five away league games (D2 L2) and have the league’s seventh-best record on the road.

Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, will be determined to end a two-match goalless run. The forward has a decent record against Fiorentina, having scored three penalties in five meetings. He’s also scored 14 of his 25 league goals away from home this season.

Key Team Stats
  • Won 3-1 in 2 of their last 3 games in Serie A (L1).
  • Won just once in their last 5 away games in Serie A (D2 L2).
  • BTTS in 7 of their last 9 games in all competitions.

  • Scored a league-best of 14 goals following a cross.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 3 penalties in 5 games against Fiorentina in Serie A.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 5 goals in his last 3 away games in Serie A.
