Camp Nou was the place where Granada played against FC Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga on Thursday. We have the player ratings.

FC Barcelona had a golden opportunity against Granada this evening at Camp Nou stadium in the Catalan city. If they won, they could reach 74 points and take the top of the Spanish La Liga before a wild week ahead. Next Sunday, FC Barcelona has to visit Mestalla to face Valencia and they play against Atletico Madrid at home a week later. On paper, today’s match seemed easier to overtake but they simply didn’t have their day. Even though they started off with a brilliant combination between Messi and Griezmann for the first goal.

Many mistakes came after that initial opener during the first half of the game. The goal was truly spectacular between both stars, it seemed like tonight would be a walk in the park for Barcelona. Also, Sergio Busquets played football that was eerily similar to Xavi Hernandez in his prime. With deep cut passes down the middle that scared all Granada defenders. But manager Diego Martinez’s halftime talk was something special for his players.

Granada turns the game around.

FC Barcelona made several defensive mistakes after the break, most of them came after Ronald Koeman was sent off for talking over the ref. Oscar Mingueza made one of the most incredible fails we’ve seen in a while that provoked Granada’s equalizer from Machis. It took them nearly the entire game to get that winner but they finally did it with some spare minutes left on the clock.

With this result, FC Barcelona miss the unique opportunity to claim the top of the Spanish La Liga. They still have to travel to Mestalla to face Valencia next Sunday and play Atletico Madrid a week after that. Currently, there are only four points between the fourth and the first place in the Spanish tournament. We are about to witness something truly historic before the end of the season.
