Goodison Park was the place where Manchester United faced Everton in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal. We have today’s player ratings.
Manchester United had a really complicated visit to Goodison Park to face Everton in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal. The Red Devils are living large this season as they seem to finally be back in business. Right now, they are considered one of the most solid football clubs in English football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But they had Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in front of them today with a semifinal on the line.
Getting that qualification wasn’t going to come easy for them, especially playing away from home. The match happened as we probably expected with an overly defensive tone from Carlo Ancelotti’s side and United dominating. We didn’t get to see the exciting part of the quarterfinal until the last minutes of the game.
Cavani and Martial seal it for United.
The game was agonizing when the important moment of the match took place. Anthony Martial completely changed the pace alongside Marcus Rashford. The French forward served an assist for Edinson Cavani with minutes left on the clock.
Uruguay’s own released a potent shot that sealed the result for the Red Devils but there was more time to play. Marcus Rashford got to serve Martial with another assist with seconds left on the clock. A 0-2 victory that made Manchester United work hard for the ticket to the Carabao Cup semifinal.
