Emerson Palmieri has dropped the latest hint on his future at Chelsea.

The 26-year-old has struggled to impose himself since he joined the Blues in 2018. He has severally been linked with an exit from the club and has refused to give nothing away once again.

At the moment, Emerson is on international duty with Italy, with the Azzurri boasting a flying start to their World Cup qualifying campaign so far.

The left-back featured for 75 minutes in their 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland but was an unused substitute in their most recent win over Bulgaria, also with the same 2-0 score-line.

Emerson is enjoying the atmosphere within the Italy squad and says he has never worked within a group like the current side.

“It’s a different group. I’ve never worked with a group like this one. We are like a family and we are humble,” the Chelsea defender told Rai Sport.

“We are working hard, we are happy to stay together, and we show it on the pitch.”

Moving to club matters, Emerson has struggled for game-time this term. The 26-year-old has only made two appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League.

Overall, the defender can only boast about a meagre 13 appearances across all competitions this term.

With Emerson now in the final 18 months of his Chelsea contract, he has kept all options open regarding his future.

“It’s still early to talk about the future.

“I am focused on the national team only. We’ll see what happens in June. Chelsea can go all the way in the Champions League and the FA Cup. We can win something this season.”
