There’s no other way to look at it, either Neymar or Mbappe have to leave PSG next season. Both players can’t stay at the French club.

Even though PSG is one of the wealthiest football clubs in the world, keeping Neymar and Mbappe next season will be impossible. The current economic situation around the world is concerning for all football clubs. PSG is no different as the coronavirus pandemic keeps ravaging the country.

There is no way Ligue 1 will agree to allow supporters with the second wave currently hitting harder than the first one. The year 2021 will start with no fans in the stands until there is a reliable vaccine and PSG is starting to suffer the consequences. Before the crisis, they had enough money to pay for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’s salaries without a problem.

However, the French striker is growing to become one of the best footballers in the world and his contract is nowhere near what he deserves. With Neymar’s €24 million per-season, this leaves the club in a very difficult situation in regards to Mbappe’s contract extension.

PSG prefers selling Neymar over Mbappe.

According to a report from L’Equipe, PSG knows that keeping both players during this crisis is simply impossible. They made a decision that could be wrong, which is to keep Mbappe and sell Neymar to the highest bidder by 2021. But this choice might not even be on the club’s hands due to Real Madrid’s involvement on the matter.

Zidane’s squad is going to do the impossible in order to lure Kylian Mbappe to Spain next season and they won’t give up until it happens. At the end of the day, this will be the youngster’s decision even if PSG offers him a world-record wage. Keeping either of both players will be their decision, not the club’s.

We might even get a scenario in which the two players have the desire to leave France after this season, only time will tell what happens. The only certainty here is that one player will have to leave the club next season and the market will go wild over either of them.
