The French island is the place for a thrilling Ligue 1 match between AS Monaco and PSG on the return to activity. We have player ratings.

Louis II Stadium opened its doors for the most important game of this Ligue 1 campaign so far between AS Monaco and PSG. The squad from the French capital had Kylian Mbappe and Neymar returning to activity after the recent international break. Even though he is fully recovered, the Brazilian started tonight’s match on the bench.

Whereas the young France forward started against the AS Monaco side. Despite their evident first-half superiority, the most important man of the match was not one of them. PSG dominated during the first half that could’ve ended with many goals in their favor. However, VAR prevented them from scoring at least two and Mbappe from scoring a first-half hat-trick.

The youngster is just as electrifying as ever with a brace that made us all think PSG had this result in the bag. Volland scored his side’s goal at the start of the second half, right after the man of the match got on the pitch.

Fabregas takes PSG by surprise.

Maybe we forgot about him because he’s been almost absent for the last couple of years, but Cesc Fabregas is still very active in football. Despite starting the game from the bench this evening, he came on the pitch at the start of the second half.

It was the exact change Monaco needed in order to start their amazing comeback. Fabregas completely owned all PSG midfield players with no opposition as he multiplied throughout the whole pitch. None of the PSG forwards had the spice to respond to Cesc’s leadership this evening. He was involved in Volland’s two goals and scored the winner from the spot.

A stellar performance that gives Monaco a very important win against the reigning champions. Neymar played the last 30 minutes of the match but he still doesn’t seem fit enough to compete at the highest level.
