The Red Devils have intensified their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper before the transfer window’s deadline.
Eintracht Frankfurt have dismissed reports around Kevin Trapp’s potential move to Manchester United.
Trapp has emerged among Man Utd’s targets to replace Dean Henderson, who joined Nottingham Forest on a loan deal earlier this summer.
However, the Bundesliga heavyweights have ruled out Trapp’s exit in the current transfer window.
The club’s board member Markus Krosche insisted there had been ‘no contact of offer from Man Utd’ for the goalkeeper.
Frankfurt’s manager Olivier Glasner has also expressed his desire to keep Trapp in his squad.
“From a sporting point of view, I would, of course, like to keep such a great goalkeeper and person,” Glasner said.
“He is a great role model and always one of the first to arrive at training. But I’m not the final decision-maker.”
United also have Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer and Everton’s Asmir Begovic on their list to replace Henderson.
English sources claimed Trapp was eager to join the Red Devils. But the goalkeeper played down the reports when asked a possible move to Old Trafford.
“As I said during my first spell at Frankfurt, it’s always nice when rumours like this come out. It’s a nice acknowledgement. But I can’t say anything about it,” he told SportBild.
