It happened during Saturday’s match between Real Madrid and Alaves, Eden Hazard had to leave the pitch early with an injury once again.

Eden Hazard can’t seem to catch a break with injuries as he wasn’t able to complete his third straight match for Real Madrid. Since he arrived at the club during the summer of 2019, Eden Hazard has injured himself eight times. The most matches he’s ever played in a consecutive manner since he arrived is seven.

Today, he was willing to complete the third since he returned from a recovery process after testing positive for Covid-19. Hazard was starting to look promising physically and scoring important goals for his side. However, today was a strange day for Real Madrid against Alaves in all aspects.

It all went down during the first half at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. Initially, the Belgian winger suffered a foul inside the box that wasn’t ruled a penalty despite leaving zero doubt on the replay.

Hazard hurts his ankle again.

But that missed penalty was much less important than the tackle he suffered from Ruben Duarte, who clearly twisted Eden’s ankle in the process. After watching the image, it’s evident Hazard felt the pain and immediately asked for a substitution. He didn’t even walk to the other side of the pitch.

Hazard simply left the game on his own with his head down. He knows this problem keeps hindering his level of performance. It’s still unclear how serious this problem is for Hazard but he wouldn’t leave the pitch if it wasn’t something to worry about. Hopefully, the Belgian star doesn’t have to miss too many matches after the usual tests he has to undergo tomorrow.
