La Joya has expressed his keen interest in staying put at the Allianz Stadium after opening his goalscoring account for the season.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway for the Juventus fans from the team’s 3-1 win against Genoa was Paulo Dybala getting on the scoresheet.

2020-21 has been a testing season for Dybala with poor form and fitness troubles proving a major stumbling block for him.

The Argentine had failed to score a single goal in each of the previous six Serie A matches prior to Sunday’s fixture but was able to get off the mark by putting his side on the front foot near the hour mark against Genoa.

He ran off to the sidelines as soon as the ball hit the back of the net, hugging manager Andrea Pirlo in celebration of the goal.

Dybala’s contract runs out at the end of the next season. There have been talks of ongoing negotiations for an extension earlier but recent reports claimed the talks broke down due to the player’s high wage demands.

“So many things that aren’t true have been said in relation to my contract,” Dybala denied those rumors, speaking to Sky Sport Italia.

“My agent was in Turin for a long time and was never called up by the club. It disappoints me to hear talk of invested financial figures.

“It would be better if the truth could be told, because talking about those aspects in this period pits the fans against me, with all the love I have for Juventus.”
