Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo was delighted for Dybala after the forward opened his account in Serie A this term.

Andrea Pirlo was pleased to see Juventus win but was particularly pleased to see Paulo Dybala get on the scoresheet.

The Argentine has struggled so far this season with injuries and inconsistency and has only featured sparingly for the Bianconeri.

Pirlo had Morata back available but decided to start Dybala and Ronaldo upfront against Genoa.

After a goalless first half, La Joya broke the deadlock in the 57th minute but the lead didn’t long. Genoa grabbed an equalizer through Sturaro four minutes later.

It took two late penalties for Cristiano Ronaldo to see Juventus claim a 3-1 victory at the end of the day.

Speaking after the game, Pirlo admitted he was pleased to see Dybala grab his first goal of the season.

“Paulo needed this goal to break through both psychologically and physically,” the Juve boss said as per Sky Sport Italia.

“He did well in the two phases today and we are happy for him.

“His performances have been improving recently and he deserved this goal, we’re very pleased for him.”

Up next for Juventus is a home fixture against Atalanta on Wednesday.
