The Red Devils are monitoring the market for a new goalkeeper.
Diogo Costa has dismissed reports about his possible transfer to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have stayed in the market for a new keeper despite reportedly reaching an agreement to extend David De Gea’s contract.
Last week, reports emerged of the Red Devils’ interest in signing Costa. Daily Mail went as far as to claim the club could still decide against renewing De Gea’s contract.
However, Costa has denied reports of an imminent move to Old Trafford.
“That’s the internet. It is a happiness and an honour to play for my favourite club,” the 23-year-old said.
“What they say is what they say, there is nothing concrete, I have a contract until 2027 and I hope to continue, let’s see.”
De Gea’s performances last season cast serious doubts over his chances of retaining his No.1 spot at Man Utd. Speaking before the FA Cup final, Erik ten Hag refused to confirm a regular spot in United’s lineup for the Spaniard.
“I will not say he’ll always be my No.1 because in a club like Man United there must be competition in all positions,” the Man Utd boss said.
“You can’t do it with 11 players. It is impossible. You need double positions.”
