The Spaniard was Kante’s teammate back when he was playing for the Blues.
Former Chelsea star Diego Costa has opened up on his unconventional ways to get closer to ‘really shy’ N’Golo Kante.
Costa spent the best days of his career at Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. But, his performances weren’t enough to break the ice between him and Kante.
“At Chelsea, I would try to hug Kante joking. He’s really shy,” Costa told Canal Pilhado.
“I would go all naked in the shower and be like: “Kante, give me a hug!” and he would be all “No. no, Diego”.
“He doesn’t even take off his underwear to take a shower.”
Costa has been a free agent since leaving Atletico Mineiro in December 2021. The Brazil star was a crucial player for Atletico Madrid when they won La Liga and reached the Champions League final in 2014.
His form convinced Chelsea to sign him the next summer. At Stamford Bridge, the striker scored 59 goals in his 120 appearances for the Blues.
Costa won two Premier League titles during his time at Chelsea, helping the Blues with his brilliant goalscoring stats. He then returned to Atletico in 2018 but left the club for Mineiro before his contract ended in January 2021.
