Danny Murphy says Thiago Alcantara is one of the best in the world and can offer a lot of options if he joins Liverpool.

Thiago Alcantara is heavily linked to Liverpool and the Reds are the likely favorites to land his signature.

The 29-year-old made what could be his last appearance for Bayern Munich as they secured their sixth European triumph in Lisbon.

Thiago put in yet another inspiring performance for the Bavarians, just as he has done over recent games.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick further fueled speculation about the Spaniard’s future with comments saying he still isn’t sure where the midfielder will play next season.

For the Anfield faithful, the prospect of Thiago joining the club will only bring more experience to an already able squad capable of challenging on all fronts.

Danny Murphy is eager to see a player he calls ‘one of the best’ star and offer many options to Jurgen Klopp should he join the club.

“I’m a fan of his anyway, but Thiago in the middle of the pitch for Bayern, pfff, unbelievable performance,” the former Redman told talkSPORT host Jim White.

“Brilliant, he was, on and off the ball.”

“What a signing he’ll be if Liverpool get him.”

“He can play in a four, holding like he did last night, because he’s tenacious enough and he’s athletic enough.”

“He reads the game really well and he dictates tempo, he can slow the game down and speed it up, and not many players can do that.”

“Thiago can also play ahead of someone holding, like Fabinho, and get forward a bit more and play the through balls and be more creative.”

“He’s one of the best”

“The thing is that Liverpool midfield has been amazing, really, and it’s so competitive – they’ve got six players already for the three positions.”
