The Ivorian star seeks to put an end to his six-year stint at Selhurst Park in search of a new challenge, as per recent reports.

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has ruled out a transfer away for Wilfried Zaha saying the club “don’t want to lose one of our best players”.

Arsenal are supposedly set to reignite their interest in Zaha in the wake of his career-best Premier League campaign last term as the 28-year-old forward finished 2020-21 with 11 goals in 31 league appearances.

It has also been reported the player, whose contract expires in 2023, has made his intention of leaving Selhurst Park clear to the club’s management.

However, it appears the Ivory Coast international will stay put at his boyhood club as they prepare for a new chapter under Vieira following Roy Hodgson’s resignation.

“I’m aware about Wilfried [Zaha and his situation] in the last couple of years but we had a really good conversation and I’m looking forward to working with him,” Vieira told Sky Sports.

“He’s one of the most talented players in this league and we don’t want to lose one of our best players.

“All the players are smart enough to see what the club is trying to build and where the club want to go – we’ve made some really exciting young player signings and I think that shows the direction the football club wants to take.”
