CR7 took time out from his busy schedule to show his appreciation to the fans.

Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked the Manchester United fans for their continued support during a ‘very difficult season’.

The forward collected the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for a record-equalling fourth time and the club’s Goal of the Season award after smashing home 24 goals in all competitions in 2021/22.

The only other Manchester United player to win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year on four occasions is Ronaldo’s teammate David de Gea.

Ronaldo thanks the fans

Just a day after scoring twice to help Portugal beat Switzerland 4-0 in the Nations League, Ronaldo took to social media on Monday to send his thanks to the club’s supporters.

“Thanks to all the fans who voted for me,” CR7 posted on Instagram.

“I couldn’t be more proud of winning the Sir Matt Busby Award in my comeback year to Old Trafford and to the Premier League. This award goes to all the supporters who’ve never let us down during a very difficult season.

“Thank you so much for always being on our side and for helping us get Man. United back on track. We know we can count on you.”

Ronaldo is set to return to action this Thursday when Portugal take on the Czech Republic for another Nations League match.
