Ahead of the upcoming Champions League against Atalanta, Cristiano Ronaldo made a battlecry to all Manchester United supporters.

Cristiano Ronaldo knows this might be the last time Manchester United get a chance to depend on themselves in the Champions League. Their first two results are keeping them in the fight for the top spot inside their group. Inside Group F, we have United sharing the spotlight with Villarreal, Young Boys, and Atalanta. This could be considered one of the most competitive groups in the tournament and Cristiano Ronaldo wants to rise to the occasion. Amid all the tough moments the team has gone through in recent weeks, the Portugal legend wanted to send a message ahead of the game.

Everybody knows that United urgently needs a victory if they don’t want to lag behind their other competitors. Fortunately for them, the group is still quite disputed with Atalanta leading the way with 4 points. Ronaldo wrote the following Instagram message with a picture of him riling up his squad: Our time is coming! We have to show what we are made of and the Champions League is the perfect competition to prove ourselves to the world. No excuses! Let’s go!”

Will Ronaldo save Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job?

Just like he did against Villarreal during the previous game, Cristiano Ronaldo has the capacity to save Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job. But doing it this time around won’t be easy at all. Manchester United has to face one of the most consistent Serie A clubs of the last five seasons. Gianpiero Gasperini’s Atalanta is already a Champions League regular with a compact squad that always plays offensive football. United has a tough test ahead of them despite playing at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Only a player like Cristiano Ronaldo has the capabilities to score winning goals against teams of this caliber. Playing in Ole’s favor, Ronaldo gets to perform in his favorite tournament. As the all-time top scorer of the Champions League, Cristiano always gets hungrier for more goals before he decides to hang up his boots. His recent battlecry speaks about a veteran who refuses to give up on his dream to finish at the top of every imaginable stat. Solskjaer will need to pray to Saint Cristiano Ronaldo in order to keep his job.
