Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo made his feelings crystal clear on Euro 2020’s official sponsor in a move that left many fans impressed.

Seeing two Coca-Cola bottles at Portugal’s Euro 2020 press conference on Monday evening didn’t impress Cristiano Ronaldo – who has a serious disdain for the sugary beverage.

The Juventus star appeared bemused with the bottles in front of him as he took his seat. He rocked back and forth in his chair for a bit before finally removing them from his sight.

Ronaldo then lifted a bottle of water in the air and said ‘agua’ (water in English).

What did the fans have to say?

Ronaldo’s reaction on camera drew a mixed reaction from social media users on Twitter. Some joked he wouldn’t get a sponsorship deal from Coca-Cola, others quipped he is allied with Pepsi, and some fans were left baffled altogether.

But a lot of fans applauded Ronaldo for taking a stand against Coca-Cola, the sponsor of Euro 2020, by promoting water instead.

Portugal manager Fernando Santos later joined Ronaldo to begin the press conference in Budapest, where the Juventus star spoke on transfer rumors linking him with an exit from Turin.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, will become the first player in history to play in five European Championships if he features in Portugal’s Euro 2020 opener against Hungary on Tuesday evening.
