It happened during the first half of tonight’s Coppa Italia between Inter and Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace for his side.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back to his goal-scoring habits against big clubs such as Inter Milan. The last time he scored was during another big game against Napoli, it happened in the Italian Supercoppa over ten days ago. That goal made him the world’s highest goal-scorer in football history but he took a while to score again. Today in the Coppa Italia semifinal, Cristiano appeared once again from the spot.

After the referee needed a few moments to check on VAR, he signaled a penalty after confirming an Ashley Young foul on Juan Cuadrado. Inter Milan got ahead on the scoreboard through a fine goal from Lautaro Martinez but Juventus was controlling the match from the start. Ronaldo stood up on the spot to take the penalty and he didn’t miss.

Ronaldo’s nets his brace just minutes later.

Once he gets into that goal-scoring dynamic, Cristiano Ronaldo can become truly unstoppable. Especially when the defense gives him space to maneuver and make mistakes. The Portuguese star was ready to get that advantage as an Inter defender made the wrong pass to the goalkeeper.

Ronaldo simply had to push the ball inside with no opposition left to prevent his brace. Right before the break, Juventus was already winning the Coppa Italia semifinal’s first-leg with a brace from the big man. We had a thrilling second half ahead of us with only the first of two games left to play in this knock-out stage.
