The top La Liga clubs in Spain will begin their 2021/22 Copa del Rey campaigns in January.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Athletic Club have discovered their next Copa del Rey opponents.
The four Spanish Super Cup teams were included in Friday’s Round of 32 draw in Pot One. They will be keen to avoid a similar fate that was bestowed upon fellow La Liga sides Alaves, Getafe, Granada, and Levante by lower league opposition in the previous round.
Perhaps the most noteworthy tie is Real Madrid facing Alcoyano again. Los Blancos will fancy a spot of revenge for this one, having lost 2-1 to the third-tier Spanish side last season.
Meanwhile, Barcelona kick-off the defense of their Copa del Rey title away to another third-tier club in Linares.
