The Inter Milan forward has struggled to contribute goals since completing a permanent transfer from Manchester United.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte accepts Alexis Sanchez’s goal record ‘must be better’ and was at loss to explain the reason behind the forward’s dry streak.

Alexis has only scored two goals in 21 appearances in all competitions since completing a permanent transfer from Manchester United and again failed to make an impact in Inter’s 2-1 Coppa Italia semi-final first leg defeat to Juventus on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old’s performances are a far cry from what they had been with Udinese, Barcelona and Arsenal in the past.

“I don’t know if he was tired, of course he tried to give his best in the game, but he has to be more clinical when it comes to scoring goals,” said Conte as quoted on Goal.

“Numbers for [judging] the strikers are merciless, and his numbers must be better.”

Alexis has managed six goals and 15 assists in total for Inter across 53 appearances since his arrival in 2019.
