The Red Devils have offloaded another first-team player ahead the new Premier League season.

Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has completed a loan switch to Sevilla.

The Brazilian star slipped down the pecking order since Erik Ten Hag’s move to Old Trafford.

Last season, Telles played as Luke Shaw’s backup at the left-hand side of Man Utd’s defence. But his chances of getting game time have grown dimmer since Tyler Malacia’s arrival from Feyenoord.

An official statement from United read: “A popular and professional member of the squad, Telles leaves United with everybody’s best wishes for the campaign to come. The Reds supporters will be following Sevilla’s results from afar.”

Spain will become Telles’ sixth destination in Europe since his move from the Brazilian side Gremio in January 2014.

Following spells at Galatasaray, Inter, and Porto, the 29-year-old starts a new chapter in his career by joining the La Liga heavyweights.

Telles’ departure will provide Ten Hag with more space in his squad for Malacia’s game time.

The 22-year-old has formed a partnership with newly-arrived centre-back Lisandro Martinez that might convince Ten Hag to play him as a starter in his debut season at Man Utd.

Following a 1-1 draw in their last pre-season game of the summer, the Red Devils will open their Premier League campaign with a match against Brighton on Sunday.
