After several long our of negotiations, Gareth Bale has finally completed a one-season loan from Real Madrid to Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur finally fulfilled the dream of signing Gareth Bale. The Welsh forward had been struggling to find minutes under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. The French manager broke his relationship with the Welshman during the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv.

Despite playing the game of his life against Liverpool that evening, Bale publicly declared war to ‘Zizou’ but remained at the club after he left. It was evident something personal transpired between the two of them, something we might never know.

After going back to Madrid, Zidane knew that Bale would be a major issue for his plans at the club. The player was also aware of this but he decided to stay put with his massive salary. A struggle between player and manager began and it finally ends today. Gareth was the one who gave in, he was tired of not playing a single minute.

Mourinho agreed on terms for Gareth.

After reports came of Gareth Bale making the decision to leave, negotiations were ongoing. Both clubs were willing to sit down and reach an agreement but nobody was as desperate as the player. The urge to feel important for a new club was greater than any spat he had against Zidane.

The last obstacle for his one-year loan to Tottenham was his wages. At the beginning of the negotiations, the Spurs only wanted to pay half of the player’s salary. We are talking about €17 million per-season after tax. However, Real Madrid refused and Mourinho agreed to pay everything in full.

The final deal gives Spurs an obligatory buy-out clause at the end of the loan for nearly €20 million. Mail Online Sport finally confirmed that the deal is done. Gareth Bale is only waiting for the final documents from his lawyers. Even Movistar confirmed that both he and Reguilon passed the medical tests in Valdebebas. The only pending assignment is to make it official and Mourinho will have his impressive squad ready to win it all.
