Take a look at the player ratings from the round of 16 match that took place at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Colombia booked their first-ever World Cup quarter-final spot by beating Jamaica 1-0 in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

It may have been an evenly-contested duel, but it got off to a slow start. Only two shots were on target before the break, resulting in a goalless first half. Neither of each team’s defenses were really put to the test, but Colombia did show some promise. They looked more likely to score as the game progressed, with Jamaica dropping deeper into their own half.

Eventually, Colombia’s patience bore fruit when Catalina Usme scored. She broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half. Ana Guzman played an excellent ball into the box, which landed on Usme’s feet. The striker didn’t need asking twice, she took a single touch before firing the ball into the corner of the Jamaica goal.

It was the first goal Jamaica had conceded throughout the World Cup, and ultimately proved to be their downfall.

Still, having made the knockouts for the first time in history, it’s still been an impressive tournament for Jamaica. They can now bow out with their heads held high. Colombia, meanwhile, will return to action on Saturday. The South Americans will face England, who beat Nigeria in the last-16 on Monday, in the World Cup quarter-finals in Sydney.
