The opportunity to become a part of ‘the best club in Germany’ Bayern Munich was too irresistible, suggests Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Paris Saint-Germain made it up to the final stage of the Champions League last season, and it would not have been possible without Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The Cameroon international rose to the occasion to be the difference-maker for his side at the quarter-finals stage. It was he who struck the winning goal when PSG and Atalanta were tied until late in stoppage time.

He also played some part in bringing domestic glory to the French capital, helping the team to Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue titles.

A number of clubs showed interest in making the reliable center-forward one of their own and the Parisians also wanted him to continue. But Bayern Munich then came calling and he found it too hard to reject the offer from the European and German champions.

“Paris wanted me to stay, but I turned them down. There were some interesting offers. My choice was made as soon as Bayern contacted my agents,” Choupo-Moting told the media, via Goal.

“It wasn’t a shock they came in for me, but it’s a huge honor. They’re the Champions League holders, the biggest team in Germany.

“There were conversations with the coach, he made it clear to me that he would be happy if I came.”
