Jose Mourinho was publicly critical of his team after their most recent defeat, and an ex-Premier League great feels it was uncalled for.

It marked the most shocking result of the entire Europa League matchday 2 when Royal Antwerp managed to get the better of Tottenham on Thursday.

The Premier League side put in a lackluster performance, showing inadequacy in both defense and attack.

After going behind around the 30-minute mark, Jose Mourinho made a number of changes, bringing on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, and Harry Kane made little difference, hoping for a turnaround.

However, it was not to happen. All it took was one goal from Lior Refaelov to seal all three points for the Belgian outfit as Spurs failed to muster a response.

Mourinho made no efforts whatsoever to hide his frustration post-match, insisting that his team ‘did not deserve to win’. The world witnessed more of the manager’s fury later on as he took to social media to criticize his players.

A former Premier League player recently expressed his disapproval over the Spurs boss’ way of dealing with the loss, stating that Mourinho shouldn’t have made his reaction public.

“I’m not happy with Mourinho being so public. Save it for the dressing room,” Martin Keown told BT Sport, as per talkSPORT.

“Is this how we’re going to communicate [over Instagram]? If you’re gonna talk to me, talk to my face. Don’t do posts.

“Keep it in house, it’s a bit childish what you’re hearing. Players have to keep their mouths shout, but he can say whatever he wants publicly. I would rather keep it in the dressing room. I’m not sure that’s healthy.”
