The Premier League is back this weekend with Chelsea facing Liverpool at Stamford Bridge as the main course. Here are the betting predictions.

After an interesting inaugural weekend in the Premier League, Liverpool has the first major trip of the season to face Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. The Reds are coming fresh out of a seven-goal thriller against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United. They proved that they have a lot of defensive work ahead of them and they will test their strength against Frank Lampard’s Blues. Chelsea traveled to Brighton last weekend and proved they have the chance to defeat the reigning Premier League champions.

Frank Lampard will do everything in his power to prove his detractors wrong, they keep saying he won’t be able to make his squad function properly with so many new signings. Liverpool is thee ideal test for him to flex those muscles.

Chelsea FC Form & Team Stats

After finishing strong with no transfers last season in the Premier League, Chelsea came dangerously close to even winning some silverware. The FA Cup final was a massive heartbreak for them but Frank Lampard left a great impression on the Blues’ board. This is why Roman Abramovich decided to spend major cash on several players.

The upcoming season gives them a proper chance to become title contenders for all the tournaments they will play. The arrivals of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, and other players is the key component for them this season. However, there is a good chance that at least three of those players won’t make it for this game on Sunday. Only Timo and Kai seem prepared to face the reigning champions.

In fact, it will be interesting to watch Werner play against the club that attempted to sign him before the Blues did. Also, Frank Lampard comes to battle after last season’s spat he had with the Liverpool bench. It should be an interesting game to watch for everybody, sparks will fly all over the Stamford Bridge pitch.

Key Team Stats

-Won their last five Premier League consecutive matches.

-Chelsea is undefeated on their last 13 Premier League games vs previous seasons’ champions, they won their last three.

-The Blues aim to get their fourth consecutive clean sheet at home for the first time since January 2018.

-Chelsea is looking for their seventh successive victory at home in all competitions since their defeat against Chelsea last season.

Liverpool FC Form & Team Stats

The Reds have a major test on their hands this season. They finally got past the major obstacle of not being able to win the Premier League before. Although they are one of the biggest winners in the English League’s history, they were very unfortunate since the new format began.

Now that they have that title on their hands, it’s time for them to defend it. Jürgen Klopp has the idea of “attacking” the title, which means he wants to play offensive football. Thiago Alcantara’s arrival speaks volumes to what this new Liverpool side wants to accomplish. The former Bayern Munich midfielder will bring top-quality to an already impressive squad.

Key Team Stats

-Reigning Premier League champions.

-Despite winning three of their last four Premier League games, Liverpool have conceded 9 goals throughout.

-Liverpool hasn’t kept a clean sheet on their last six matches in the Premier League.

-The Reds have scored all of their last 16 penalties in every competition.
