Chelsea have impressed on all fronts this season, and Rio Ferdinand has rated their chances of winning the Champions League.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Chelsea are dark horses to go all out for the Champions League trophy this season.
The Blues have been one of the most in-form sides in Europe for a while now with an unbeaten run up to 14 games at the moment.
In the Champions League, Chelsea are also unbeaten in the competition and topped Group E ahead of Sevilla, Krasnodar, and Rennes.
Some of their performances over the past few weeks have seen many label the Blues as potential winners of Europe’s biggest club prize. Glenn Hoddle is among those to have made such claims.
The Blues could still face a tricky Round of 16 Champions League tie when the draw takes place next week, but Ferdinand still sees the West London side as possible winners of the competition.
“They could be, definitely,” Ferdinand told BT Sport. “They’re a team that are starting to gel together.
“Frank’s done very good business up until now. It’s difficult. Get through the Christmas period, see how the team is shaping up injury-wise and form-wise.
“We’ll have to re-address this as well, our form and expectations for each team because form and injuries play a big part.”
