The Blues have scaled great heights of success so far under the tutelage of the German tactician, who promises there’s more to come.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel insists his side’s “focus and aim” in 2021-22 will be winning the Premier League title.

A managerial change last season worked wonders for Chelsea, who appeared set to miss out on Champions League qualification earlier in the 2020-21 campaign managed to secure a fourth-place league finish.

With a solid backline as the foundation and playing quick counter-attacking football, the London side went on to dominate Europe, beating the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City en route to winning the most attractive prize in club football.

The Blues then lifted their second piece of European silverware under the former Paris Saint-Germain boss by beating Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday.

Chelsea will now look to come out on top in the battle against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United for the English top-flight crown in the coming season.

Tuchel told Sky Sports: “Our focus and our aim is to win the league this season.

“Winning the Champions League gives us more confidence to win more silverware and also the hunger; once you’ve had that feeling of winning a trophy, it makes you want it again.

“It’s been quite a unique preparation, pretty challenging. Some of the players have had only one week of training; they’ll need to continue – they will be at their peak probably in September but this is something we have to adapt to.

“There have been double sessions to give everyone the exact workload they need but the physical department has been outstanding and the players have been fantastic in terms of work ethic. They have worked really hard – it’s been on a level I haven’t experienced before; everyone is taking it so seriously.”
