The Germany international has set the bar of his ambitions higher after enjoying a successful debut season at Stamford Bridge.

Kai Havertz says Chelsea have “a lot of goals” for the upcoming season while insisting Champions League success “is not enough for us.”

Havertz took time to find his feet after joining Chelsea on a big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer but was able to settle down in the second half of the season.

The versatile attacker gradually became a crucial figure in Thomas Tuchel’s team that won the Champions League, scoring the winning goal in the decisive match against Manchester City at Estadio do Dragao.

He is now preparing for his second season with the London club and admits he is hungry for further silverware.

“We all dreamed of winning the Champions League one day, and of course now we have to prove it again and again,” Havertz said,” Havertz told in an interview with the club’s website.

“I think we have all a lot of goals this season. The Champions League title is not enough for us, we want to win more and that’s our aim for the season.

“We have a very good squad, we have good players. That is the same for the pre-season, that everybody will be fit and that we are ready to play.”
