Two key players will be back in the Chelsea squad ahead of their next game, with another one continuing rehabilitation.

Chelsea will play against Everton in their next league game on Thursday. The Blues have suffered several injuries in their squad lately. However, a new injury update might provide them with the squad reinforcement needed to regain their form.

According to Football London, Trevoh Chalobah and N’Golo Kante have made their returns to the first-team training. Ben Chilwell has participated in light fitness work for the first time since suffering an ACL injury last month.

The recent injuries alongside a tight schedule have resulted in a tangible decline of form at the London side.

Thomas Tuchel’s team lost their place on top of the table after a 3-2 defeat against West Ham. Chelsea then displayed an underwhelming performance in their 3-3 draw against Zenit in the Champions League.

On Saturday, the Blues secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Leeds United, but their performance was still far from convincing. The return of Kante and Chalobah will provide Chelsea with much-needed stability in their defence.

Jorginho returned to action this week after his back injury, and played for 90 minutes against Leeds United.

“Jorgi has sacrificed himself for many weeks, actually,” Tuchel said after the Leeds victory.

“I was aware this moment would come where he would suffer because he played Champions League campaign with us, the Euros with Italy, and all their World Cup qualifiers. So there has not only been a physical effort for him it’s been mentally very demanding.

“He had no pre-season, started the Super Cup game straight away. So I knew there would be a point in the season he feels his body and wouldn’t be fully fit.”

After their match against the Toffees, Chelsea meet Wolves in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
