The Blues have been blessed with the return of one of their most pivotal players before the London derby.
N’Golo Kante is “back in full shape and ready to play” for Chelsea in the match against Tottenham, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed.
Kante’s fitness has been a recurring issue for Tuchel this season. The Frenchman was unavailable for the Premier League campaign opener against Crystal Palace due to a groin problem and suffered a recurrence of that injury upon his return to action against Liverpool.
He sat out the subsequent league outing against Aston Villa while also missed the Champions League encounter with Zenit St Petersburg after the international break.
The engine of the Chelsea midfield, though, is now up and running and they will be able to field him against their local rivals Tottenham on the weekend.
“We have no fresh injury concerns,” the Blues boss informed during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“N’Golo is back. He’s back in full shape and ready to play on Sunday.
On Christian Pulisic, who came back with an ankle injury from international duty, Tuchel added: “Christian is in individual training and is trying to come back as fast as possible to join in with full training.
“He’s not in the squad this weekend, as the game comes too early for him, but he is working hard on his fitness.”
