After Frank Lampard’s sudden sacking, Chelsea FC already has a manager in mind to replace him as soon as humanly possible.

Frank Lampard’s sudden dismissal has taken everybody by surprise but Roman Abramovich might already have his replacement. The Russian oligarch tends to do this quite often, he was ruthless against the club’s biggest legend. We already know how he operates. Abramovich doesn’t make a decision like this if he doesn’t already have a contention plan to continue the project of the season.

Sacking Frank Lampard right after a victory was completely unexpected but we can already see where this is going. Just like clockwork, reports started coming about the manager who has the best chances to replace Frank. Since Mauricio Pochettino is taken by PSG, Abramovich didn’t want to waste any more time to go after the manager he replaced.

Tuchel leads the race for the Chelsea job.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Thomas Tuchel is the manager who could replace Frank Lampard in the next couple of days. As Chelsea and the German coach remain in negotiations, there is still no official confirmation about the new boss. Lampard dug his own grave at a club in which he was allowed to spend €250 million in transfers that still haven’t worked. There is no specific explanation as to why these players never performed at their real level.

All we know is that Lampard proved that the Chelsea job is still too big for him. It’s evident that Frank needs a lot more experience before taking on a job like this. Perhaps going back to a smaller club in order to regain confidence is the way to approach his next step. Tuchel is an experienced manager who recently took PSG to the Champions League final. Abramovich has the plan to bring him on board in a season that is still salvageable.
