The draw for the 2021/22 Champions League quarter-finals and the remaining knockout fixtures took place on Friday, producing some mouth-watering ties.

Chelsea take on Real Madrid, Manchester City face Manchester United’s conquerors Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool lock horns with Benfica for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

All eight remaining clubs discovered their fates on Friday afternoon at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, for the Champions League quarter-finals. Unlike the last-16 draw, UEFA placed teams in an ‘open’ draw. That meant there was no seeding or country protection which, in short, means anyone could face any team.

Former Manchester United and Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre oversaw the draw alongside UEFA officials.
