The Arsenal pair were involved in an alleged spat over the week, leading Keown to suggest it may indicate problems for his old club.

Martin Keown has suggested Dani Ceballos and David Luiz’s bust-up in training could be a sign of other unresolved issues at Arsenal.

The pair reportedly came to blows upon completing a training session a week ago. Luiz apparently took exception to a challenge from his teammate and hit him on the nose. Ceballos has, however, labelled the report as ‘fake’ on Twitter.

But while keen for the alleged incident to blow over, Mikel Arteta was left concerned there may be leaks inside his camp and warned there will be consequences for any Arsenal employee found guilty of leaking the allegation.

Although a potential leak and bust-up in Arteta’s squad isn’t what concerned Keown the most amid a frustrating run of results recently.

“If it did happen, it wouldn’t be unusual. These things happen,” the former Gunners defender told talkSPORT.

“It’s never nice to see it but Arsenal lost that game against Villa heavily and maybe there is a little bit of a problem within the camp and sometimes people get fraught with one another.

“There’s a fighting spirit there. You won’t want it to happen too often.

“You need to keep everyone together and Arteta needs to be on top of it.”

Quizzed on what happened in the Ceballos and Luiz spat during a press conference on Friday, Arteta responded: “Nothing.

“Training is very competitive and issues happen a lot of times. Those things get resolved immediately within the team and there is not much to say.

“There is no problem at all (between the players).”

Arsenal will return to action on Sunday in a trip to Leeds United in the Premier League.
