The pair made 108 appearances alongside each other at Real Madrid and won the Champions League four times together.

Casemiro is ‘excited’ by the prospect of reuniting with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.

The 30-year-old midfielder is on the verge of a transfer to Old Trafford worth an initial €70 million. He has accepted a contract until June 2026, which includes an option for another 12 months. The medicals are complete, with a visa all that is needed now to complete the deal.

Casemiro will then go to Manchester hoping Ronaldo stays in England so they can enjoy more triumphs together.

“I’m going to United, one of the biggest teams in the world that competes with the greatness of Madrid,” the Brazilian said in a farewell press conference in Madrid on Monday.

“I haven’t talked to Cristiano Ronaldo, but I want to play with him. I’m very excited to work with him. Hopefully, he stays. He’s one of the best in the world.”

Another ex-Real Madrid star Casemiro will reunite with is French defender Raphael Varane.

Together, alongside Ronaldo, the trio won four Champions League titles at Real Madrid from 2014 to 2018. They also helped Los Blancos win LaLiga, Copa del Rey, FIFA Club World Cup, and many more honors.
