Casemiro was the man who gave Real Madrid three golden points in the Spanish La Liga against Real Valladolid. A potent header.

Real Madrid desperately needed to win today’s match against Real Valladolid and Casemiro was the one who gave it to them. Atletico Madrid got surprisingly defeated earlier today against Levante, which meant Los Blancos had a chance to get three points behind them at the top. Zinedine Zidane didn’t have several injured players but he still trusted the squad to deliver a result tonight.

A win today meant that these players are willing to defend their most recent La Liga title by any means necessary. In the first half, we saw a goal from Mariano that got disallowed after a clear off-side. Other than that, neither side proved it was ready to get the three points in Pucela tonight. This seemed like a game in which a set-piece could decide the final outcome. All midfield players are currently going through a great moment at Real Madrid, but none more than Casemiro.

In the second half, there was some controversy after Real Madrid got awarded a set-piece from a foul that possibly didn’t exist. But this didn’t matter to the Brazilian midfielder, who scored with a header after a Toni Kroos assist. Zidane managed to hold on to a result that got them back in the race for the title.

We will also see FC Barcelona playing against Cadiz tomorrow, they too have a chance to fight for this trophy if they win. With five goals in La Liga this season, Casemiro is already Real Madrid’s second-highest goal-scorer behind Karim Benzema. Out of those five goals, four of them were headers during set-pieces. This man is a 100% guarantee in the air and tonight’s goal is very important for his club.
