The right-back is eager to see the World Cup winning-forward wear the famous white shirt this season.
Dani Carvajal is hoping for Real Madrid to secure the services of Kylian Mbappe before the August 31 deadline of the summer market.
There is belief in the Real Madrid camp that Paris Saint-Germain would be willing to let go of Mbappe now that they have signed Lionel Messi on top of strengthening other areas of their squad.
Furthermore, the 22-year-old is in the final year of his contract, meaning he’ll be free to hold talks with any potential suitor in January and walk away from Parc des Princes for free at the end of this season.
Talks of the Frenchman moving to the Spanish capital, therefore, have gained momentum in the final week of the transfer window.
“I think that, like the coach said, everything that strengthens the squad is good,” Carvajal told Movistar+.
“Let’s see in these last few days of the market if he can strengthen us because he’s a great player.”
Carvajal was speaking after scoring the winning goal in Real Madrid’s narrow 1-0 over Real Betis in La Liga on Saturday.
“We started very well in the opening minutes, then we separated the lines and Betis made us suffer without the ball,” the right-back added.
“We came from two games with a lot of goals and conceding. Today the task was more defensive and it worked out.
“We scored in a flash to get the win which means we can go into the international break calmly.”
