The Liverpool legend surprisingly overlooked Mohamed Salah in favor of Heung-min Son in his team of the season.
Jamie Carragher has revealed Heung-min Son’s more impressive all-round game compared to Mohamed Salah was why he picked the Tottenham star in his team of the season.
On Monday night, Carragher and fellow Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville were tasked with selecting their best XIs of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
But Salah, who is the league’s second-highest scorer on 20 goals in 33 games, failed to make either of the duo’s XIs.

While former Manchester United star Neville favoring Marcus Rashford on the right flank of his attack was no big surprise, Carragher’s decision to select Son instead raised a few eyebrows.
“I went for Son,” said the ex-Liverpool defender on Sky Sports.
“I was thinking about Mo Salah being the top goal scorer, but Son, I was thinking about goals and assists, Son has more than Salah combined.
“Obviously Salah takes penalties, but [Harry] Kane is the penalty taker, so that’s the reason for Son.
“Next to Son I’ve gone with Harry Kane. Both of their numbers are brilliant considering they’ve played most of the season in a team which is defensive.”
